A private residential prayer room designed around a qibla wall featuring a full-height pointed arch mihrab in white textured plaster with Islamic geometric relief detailing and a gold crescent and Allah calligraphy motif at its center. A backlit geometric mashrabiya panel is set into the adjacent wall alongside a built-in recessed bookshelf niche with integrated lighting, holding Qurans and decorative objects. A circular gold ring chandelier with hanging pendant lights is centered on the stepped gypsum ceiling coffer above the prayer area.
The room is designed as a dedicated prayer space within a private residence, giving equal attention to spiritual atmosphere and interior quality. Islamic decorative elements – the mihrab arch, mashrabiya screens, Arabic calligraphy, and Moroccan lanterns – are applied consistently but within a restrained contemporary palette of white, sage green, and walnut timber. The sage green wall and velvet armchair introduce a residential comfort layer that distinguishes this from a purely formal or institutional prayer space. Gold is used as the accent finish throughout, appearing in the chandelier, calligraphy panels, side table, and lanterns to maintain material cohesion across all decorative elements.
