A fully landscaped private courtyard featuring a natural rock waterfall flowing into a koi pond, complemented by two built-in water wall features set against a stone and timber boundary wall. The garden includes layered planting with cypress trees, boxwood hedges, hydrangeas, and flowering trees, with integrated ground lighting throughout.
A circular stone terrace at the center provides a dedicated lounge area with sun loungers and a rattan shade umbrella. A separate seating zone with teak armchairs sits adjacent to the water feature. Stone pathways connect all areas of the garden.
The design responds to a single idea: dissolving the boundary between the built and the natural. For a private residence, the challenge was to create a courtyard that functions as a true extension of the interior, not a garden viewed from inside, but a living space that moves fluidly between the two.
Water is the thread that connects the experience. From the natural rock waterfall and koi pond at the garden’s edge to the twin water walls framing the central terrace, the presence of water is constant, shaping the atmosphere and grounding the space in calm.
The result is a private environment where the homeowner can move from garden to lounge without a shift in atmosphere, the materials, planting, light, and sound of water carry through from one to the other.
